Russell Street Kitchen
Greenfield, MA
Xylor and EE got in touch with us because they were tired of their small, dark, cramped kitchen and were ready to reconfigure their space into something that felt generous and calm. We settled on a plan to take down a wall and open up the little U-shaped kitchen, add a huge island and orient the space towards a window onto their beautiful backyard and gardens. With the layout settled, we turned our attention to the materials. Xylor loves saturated, “strong” colors, and EE wanted the space to feel peaceful. With these two orientations in mind, we settled on a monochrome palette of blue cabinets and blue countertops. To add some warmth and contrast, we finished the walls with a pale pink lime plaster, and used white oak for open floating shelving.
