We worked with our clients in Shelburne, MA, to create a functional and joyful modern kitchen. This space features a storage-packed kitchen island with seating and smart design elements that maximize both style and usability.

The pantry wall offers dual functionality. On one side, it serves as a practical closet, while the other side provides open shelving for display. To achieve a seamless and polished look, we wrapped the entire wall of cabinets in matching finished plywood.

For the cabinetry design, we used a natural clear wood wax finish combined with a vibrant pop of color. Our clients chose to color-block sections with our custom Mountain Mint finish, crafted using Osmo wood waxes. This playful detail adds personality and depth, creating a unique focal point in the kitchen.

We incorporated thoughtful storage solutions throughout the space. These include a pull-out trash and recycling system, a spice and oil pullout, and a custom pantry with both shelving and pull-outs for added convenience. Open shelving beneath the slab-front upper cabinets features colorful back panels and under-cabinet lighting, which tie beautifully into the bold concrete backsplash. In the window corner, we added curved floating shelves to display decorative items, bringing a softer, personalized touch to the design.

The kitchen island with seating serves as the heart of the space. It’s perfect for meals, work, or entertaining. Additionally, the island includes a hidden cabinet on the reverse side, offering extra storage while keeping the design clean and modern.
