About Us

We are designers, makers, project managers and problems solvers who believe that intelligent design and thoughtful fabrication can result in a more beautiful and better functioning world. Boxco Studio was born out of a devotion to making things, a passion for creative design, and a love of kitchens. We want to help you create a space to make all your best memories - and meals - in.

David maning the CNC machine

David is our lead fabricator and shop manager. He studied furniture making and design in Boston at the North Bennett Street School and Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and has been building furniture and kitchens for over a decade. Using his knowledge of carpentry, woodworking, welding, concrete, lighting, and digital fabrication, David ensures that every product that comes out of the Boxco Shop is impeccably crafted.

Gallagher working on a project

Gallagher is our lead designer and project manager. With a background in landscape design and non-profit management, she brings to Boxco a range of experience in design and construction administration. Her love of cooking and entertaining drives her passion for helping others create beautiful, functional kitchens. And her eye for modern, elegant design and warm, inviting spaces has helped define Boxco Studio's style.

Claire paying attention to details

Claire joined us in fall of 2021 as a cabinetmaker. Her attention to detail, dedication to perfecting her craft, and background in sculpture and fine plasterwork has made her the perfect person to build our cabinets, and help take our finishing to the next level.

Kat joined us in the fall of 2022 as the administration assistant and a kitchen designer in training. She has a love of organizational systems and an interest in all types of design, making her an invaluable addition to the team.

Our Shop

We are proud to call Greenfield - and the greater Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts - our home, and proud to be part of a tradition of New England kitchen cabinets. Our shop is in an early 1900s light manufacturing building. The original space - a long barn - was built by French Canadians who immigrated to the United States in order to start a business making fancy paper boxes on coal-powered, belt-driven machines. This building was home to the Greenfield Paper Box Co. for over a century, until - after the last owners retired - we were lucky enough to purchase it. Our name, Boxco Studio, is a nod to the legacy of our building, but is also pretty apt since we build a lot of plywood boxes!
